HAWAII KARATE ASSOCIATION

Sensei Michael Shimabukuro founded the Hawaii Karate Association in 2002 as a member of the Japan International system of Karate schools established by his teacher, Soke (Founder) Kiyohisa Hirano.

Our organization is an accredited member of the USA National Karate-do Federation (USA-NKF), which is the National Governing Body (NGB) for Karate within the United States, as designated by the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC). Expect this credential from quality Karate schools.

We are a Karate Dojo headed by a professional Karate instructor who teaches Karate not as just a part-time hobby, but as a full-time career. Further, each class is assisted by many skilled and dedicated Black Belts. We are proud of our commitment to quality Karate and our hard-earned reputation for excellence.
